Thank you for being part of this journey
Letter to the Editor
Dear Community Challenge Participants:
Thank you for your incredible support, enthusiasm, and participation in the 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge.
While we didn’t capture the title of Canada’s Most Active Community, we are thrilled to share that Cranbrook finished second in Canada to Quebec City and has been officially recognized as British Columbia’s Most Active Community!
This is a remarkable achievement and something our entire community should be extremely proud of. Together residents, schools, businesses, organizations, Clubs and community leaders came together to showcase the power of physical activity and community spirit.
Every walk, hike, workout, game, class, event and activity you participated in helped make this accomplishment possible. Your efforts demonstrated what makes Cranbrook such a vibrant, active and connected community.
Thank you for tracking your activities, encouraging others to get involved and helping us achieve this outstanding result. Although the national title wasn’t ours this year, being named BC’s Most Active Community and finishing second in the country is an achievement worth celebrating.
This success would not have been possible without the leadership and coordination of the Active Cranbrook Physical Literacy Society.
Our mission is to inspire and support lifelong physical activity by creating opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to move and develop physical literacy. As a volunteer-driven organization, we are always looking for community members who share our passion for building a healthier, more active Cranbrook.
Whether you are interested in volunteering, serving on our board, partnering on initiatives, or simply learning more about our work, we invite you to join us at our Annual general Meeting on Tuesday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Room KC208 at the College of the Rockies.
Congratulations and thank you for being part of this journey!
