Bucks name new head coach and assistant GM
The Cranbrook Bucks are proud to announce the hiring of Roshen Jaswal as the club’s new head coach and assistant general manager.
Jaswal steps into the dual role with a strong reputation for leadership, player development, and high-energy coaching. His ability to connect with players while building a competitive, structured environment made him a clear fit for the Bucks organization.
“We’re excited to welcome Roshen to Cranbrook,” said Nathan Lieuwen. “His alignment with the values of our team is very strong, which was our most important factor. I am confident he brings the right vision, a good work ethic, and a genuine passion for developing young men both on and off the ice.”
From Burnaby, Roshen played three seasons of professional hockey before entering the coaching scene with the NE Chiefs in Vancouver. Last year, he moved to an assistant coaching role with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.
During his playing career, Jaswal won three championships, including two in junior hockey and one in professional hockey.
“I’m incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to become the head coach and assistant general manager of the Cranbrook Bucks,” said Roshen. “First and foremost, I want to recognize the tremendous work Ryan Donald did in establishing this program and building a strong foundation here in Cranbrook.
“From my first conversations with Nathan, I felt a strong alignment in how we believe a program should be built through belief, relationships, development, culture, and a relentless pursuit of winning. I can’t wait to get to Cranbrook, connect with our players and community, and build on that foundation as we work toward our ultimate goal of bringing a championship to Cranbrook.”
Jaswal arrives ready to hit the ground running as the Bucks prepare for the 2026-27 season. Fans can look forward to seeing his impact as the team begins building toward another strong campaign at Western Financial Place starting next week at our top 40 camp.
