It is with profound sadness that we remember and say goodbye to Nicholas (Nick) Dean Alexander Dyer, a truly remarkable man whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for the people around him. Nick passed away peacefully in his sleep with his partner and his brother-in-law at his bedside on August 10th 2026 at 36 years old after a 7 year battle with brain cancer.

Nick was born December 31st 1989 in Cranbrook BC and grew up camping and fishing in the Creston and Cranbrook areas, he loved everything about being outdoors and was always up to go fishing with anyone who asked. He was the kind of person who always put others before himself, never hesitating to lend a hand, offer any support, or give whatever he could to someone who needed it. Nick would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice, his heart was bigger than words could ever properly describe, and his kindness left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all else, Nick was a devoted father, and his greatest legacy will live on through his four children, Atticus Layzell, Naveah Dyer, Kayden Dyer, and Teagan Dyer. His kids were an incredibly important part of his life, and the love he had for them will continue to surround them all for the rest of their lives, including the kids he loved as his own, Aisley and Hazel.

Nick is survived by his father, Murray Sr; his brother, Murray Jr; his step-mom Pat (Jamon); step-siblings David and Christine(Tyler) as well as his long term partner Trish. He also is survived by his many aunts, uncles and cousins, his brother-in-law Kjell, sister-in-law Surina and his in-laws Amy and Carl and the many others whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by them all. Nick had a heart of gold and a spirit that made people feel cared for, accepted, and never alone. He gave freely of himself and expected nothing in return. His greatest gift was simply being there for others.

The world has lost a genuinely good and selfless man, a loving father, a cherished son and brother, and a friend who would always show up when he was needed.

Though Nick is no longer with us, the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the memories he created will live on through everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest peacefully, knowing that the love he gave so freely will continue through the people he left behind.

A Celebration of Life for Nick will be held later once the family has had time to make arrangements.
