Romeo BEVILACQUA

He is predeceased by his father, Canzio; mother, Lea; sisters, Dora, and Dora; brother, Bruno and wife of 49 years, Shirley.

Romeo is survived by his children, Shawn Bevilacqua, and Kayla (Neil) Smithies; grandchildren: Sydney, Donovan, Vanessa, Jayce, Parker, and Garrett, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Romeo married the love of his life, Shirley, in 1966. They enjoyed spending time with friends camping, curling, bowling, dancing and just having a great time.

Romeo loved to play hockey and especially loved watching his favorite team Toronto Maple Leaf’s.

Romeo worked at the mine for many years until his retirement in 2007, after which he spent time with friends and family golfing, curling, and camping out at the Koocanusa. He could often be seen at the Legion or at the grandkids sporting events where he was a passionate cheerleader.

A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday September 15, 2026, at the Seniors drop-in center in Sparwood.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rader and staff at Sparwood Medical Clinic, the Interior Health home support team that visited him at Lilac Terrace, and Rocky Mountain Village for all their care. Thank you to numerous friends and the Community in Sparwood.
