Outgoing City of Cranbrook Councillor Norma Blissett earlier today announced she will be running for the Kootenay-Rockies Member of the Legislative Assembly seat in the October 24 provincial election.

“It’s official. I’m running for the BC NDP in Kootenay Rockies,” Blissett stated on social media.

“I’ve seen from my work on Cranbrook city council that having a positive relationship with the provincial government makes a difference.

“Our campaign will focus on supporting workers and businesses, building the homes and infrastructure our communities need and making sure everyone has the opportunity to build a good life here. Sounds like a good plan to me. I hope you will support me on this journey,” she said.
