100 Women Who Care Fernie hosting another Giving Event
One evening. One hundred women. One big impact.
100 Women Who Care Fernie invites women across the Elk Valley to its next Giving Event on November 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Soar Studios (advanced registration is required).
In a single evening, members will hear from local causes, vote, and send at least $10,000 straight back into the community.
The model is simple. Each member gives $100 and nominates a local cause. Six nominations are drawn at random in advance, and each gets a few minutes to present to the room at the giving event. Members then vote, and the top two causes share the funds raised that night.
Since launching in 2020, the group has raised more than $100,000 for Fernie and Elk Valley organizations. At its 11th Giving Event in November 2025, members gave $10,000, split between the Elk Valley Christmas Cheer Committee and the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre.
Past recipients also include the Fernie Food Security Society, Triangle Women’s Institute, Fernie Sibshops Siblings Support Society, Cycling Without Age, Elk Valley Suicide Task Force, Elk Valley Hospice and Fernie Adaptive Snowsports among others.

“One hundred dollars on its own is a nice gift. One hundred women giving together is a game changer for a small organization,” said Cindy Pearson, founding organizing committee member.
“It’s one evening out with friends, and the impact lasts all year.”
New members are always welcome. Women can sign up and learn more at 100wwcfernie.ca.
Bring a friend, bring a cause you believe in, and help decide where the money goes.
The group thanks its local event partners Soar Studios and Patti’s Party Tent Rentals, and Gabbi Escobar Film & Digital Photography for covering every Giving Event so beautifully.
