Rudy Zimmermann died on September 21st, 2026 peacefully at the Invermere and District Hospital, after an unexpected illness.

Rudy was born in Switzerland on November 14, 1940 to Fridolin and Gertrud Zimmermann.

In 1962 Rudy married Margaretha and together they raised Margaretha’s daughter Myrta.

In 1982 Rudy and Margaretha moved to Canada and settled in Invermere where their daughter Myrta was living with the family since 1978.

Rudy was a hard worker in the bush as a lumberjack, he later worked in the Radium Sawmill until retirement.

After retirement he continued to work building and renovating houses.

In the winter he worked for 5 years in Switzerland on a ski hill as an allrounder.

Then 3 more winters up Panorama as a snowgroomer.

Rudy is survived by his daughter Myrta (Fridli), his two grandchildren Nicole (Andi), Denise (Rene) and two brothers Jakob of Switzerland and Bob of Invermere.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaretha, and his parents, sister Rosa, brother Balz, and his half siblings Fritz, Thomas, Mathias, Anna and Kaspar.

Myrta would like to tank all his friends who helped him and were there for Rudy these past years.

It was Rudy’s wish for no service, and that his ashes be spread at the places of his choice.
