Cory was born in Leduc, Alberta in 1974. He went to school in Calgary, where he enjoyed playing soccer. After graduation he then moved to the Crowsnest Pass, with his mom and stepdad, where he formed many great friendships in the community. He volunteered as a firefighter and participated in Thunder in the Valley, assisting with the fireworks shows which he loved doing.

He later came to Cranbrook and found great friends there also. He loved his work and game playing, most especially crib. Anyone that ever faced him in a game knows what it was like to lose terribly. He was very competitive and always one step ahead. He loved camping with Laurie, family and friends. He especially loved watching baseball, Blue Jays being his favourite!

Cory is survived by his wife Laurie, his dad and stepmom Stan and Val, his brother Ed, and sister Elaine, father in-law Jim and Chris, sister-in law Diana and Ryan, nieces and nephews Alex, Ian, Eddie, Emilia, Brianna, Kiera and Brylie. Predeceased by his mother Margie and stepdad Jim and mother-in-law Gail.
