Southeast Kootenay (School District No. 5) School Board of Trustees will have five familiar faces return to office following the Oct. 17 general election.

Three of the five Area 5 – City of Cranbrook & RDEK Area C candidates are incumbents: Irene Bischler (2,853 votes), Chris Johns (2,596) and Doug McPhee (2,539).

Also elected to Area 5 are: Allie Kostiuk (2,526) and Pamela Berry (2,032).

Elk Valley representation on the SD5 board will come from: Nicole Heckendorf – Area 1 (City of Fernie and portion of RDEK Area A) – 1,510 votes; Cheryl Christensen – Area 2 (District of Sparwood and portion of RDEK Area A) – 555 votes; Alysha Clarke – Area 4 (RDEK Electoral Area B) – 193 votes.

Sophie Fontaine was acclaimed in Area 3 (District of Elkford and portion of RDEK Area A).

Trustees Heckendorf and Clarke are incumbents.
