Fairmont resident makes it three

Election 2013

Voters in the Columbia River-Revelstoke riding have a third choice in the May 14 provincial election.

Fairmont Hot Springs resident Earl Olsen has entered the race for the BC Conservative Party.

According to https://www.bcconservative.ca, Olsen is “a semi-retired certified general accountant. Earl and his wife, Joan, are residents of Fairmont Hot Springs.

His working career focused on private and public-sector management responsibilities, as well as small business ownership. Prior to retirement, Earl was a partner in a firm that owned large printing plants in Edmonton and Calgary.

He is actively involved in Columbia Valley community activities, and serves as a volunteer fireman/first-responder. Earl also loves the outdoors and is enthusiastic about kayaking, touring on his trike and working with wood. Together, Earl and Joan have three children and five grandchildren.”

Olsen will be vying with current MLA and NDP candidate Norm Macdonald and Liberal Party candidate Doug Clovechok, also a Fairmont resident.

Thus far the Green Party has not presented a candidate for the riding, or for the Kootenay East riding.
