Letter to the Editor
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how grateful and proud I am to be a part of this next journey at East Kootenay Regional Hospital. I am the Critical Care Manager of our hospital and was fortunate like many of you to welcome a new Intensive Care Unit.
I’ve been in this position for just over a year now and witness every day exemplary patient care from our nurses, allied health staff, support staff, physicians and administration; however they do this in less than ideal conditions.
I am eager, excited and frankly somewhat nervous to be entering into this domain of construction, permits, budgets, and deadlines; however I feel extremely supported by Interior Health, the Kootenay East Regional Hospital District and local government, the city and my co-workers at EKRH and I’m confident that this will be a successful, momentous journey and one we all can’t wait to share with the East Kootenay.
