The evening of the celebration recognizing Cranbrook Ed’s infamous escape 100 years ago from the Sells-Floto Circus brought out young and old to Rotary Park during Ed Fest, Friday, September 18.

After the lantern parade, Toronto’s self-described “Slavic brass punks,” the Lemon Bucket Orkestra, took the stage.

The band’s seven musicians played their unique blend of Slavic inspired hip hop, punk and jazz. Their infectious energy got people dancing.

Playing spontaneously whatever they felt like in the moment without a set list, the band asked for requests. One witty audience member challenged them to do a song with “more cowbell.”

The band happily took up the challenge.
