United Way Cranbrook and Kimberley is once again inviting downtown Cranbrook businesses to take part in its fundraising ‘Park-On-Us-Day.’

“Park-On-Us Day provides all-day advertising for your business, recognition of the city’s support and awareness for the United Way. We hope that every business and organization will purchase at least one meter for the day, so that on Friday, September 13 our citizens and visitors are able to park downtown free of charge,” the United Way’s summer 2013 newsletter notes of the 11^th annual event.

“This campaign has the potential to raise over $10,000 for our community! Last year, we sold 237 parking meters, down from our record year in 2008, when 321 meters were sold. This year, our goal is to sell 300 meters, and combined with other fun fundraising activities on Park-On-Us Day, raise $8,000. We can only do it with your generous help!”
