North valley residents face Hydro outage
Brisco and Spillimacheen area residents will experience a prolonged power outage on Sunday, Sept. 22.

BC Hydro reports that it will require a four hour planned outage in Spillimacheen and Brisco areas on Sunday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The outage is required to safely make system upgrades at the Spillimacheen Substation, and must be completed during daylight hours. Approximately 200 customers in Spillimacheen and Brisco will be affected, BC Hydro related.
“We are doing everything possible to minimize the inconvenience and will restore service safely and as quickly as possible,” Hydro noted in a release.
Customers will also be notified of this outage by advertisements in local newspapers and radio ads. Key account customers will be informed directly by their Key Account Manager.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to make improvements in Spillimacheen and surrounding area to provide even more reliable service in the future,” Hydro concluded.
The Spillimacheen Dam, a run-of-the-river facility, was built in 1955.
