Cranbrook RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle accident in the early morning hours on Highway 95A near Garry Rd.

A witness heard the crash and went looking for the vehicle. After several passes she finally managed to find the vehicle wrapped around a tree.

The lone male occupant somehow managed to get out of the wreckage prior to police attendance. The male was taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP are still investigating but believe that speed and alcohol were both factors in the crash.
