Local government election information for candidates
November 15 is election day in B.C. for municipalities, regional districts and school districts.
Nominations for Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Electoral Area Director
Nomination packages are available at the Cranbrook and Columbia Valley RDEK offices until 4 p.m., October 10.
To have nomination documents mailed to you, contact the Cranbrook office.
Nominations will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer as follows:
- By hand, mail or other delivery service from 9 a.m. September 30 to 4 p.m. October 10 (excluding statutory holidays and weekends) at the RDEK office in Cranbrook.
- By hand from 1 to 4 p.m. October 7 at the Columbia Valley RDEK office.
- By hand from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fernie Family Centre.
- By fax to 250-489-3498 or email to [email protected] from 9 a.m. September 30 to 4 pm October 10. Originals of faxed or emailed nomination documents must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 4:30 p.m. on October 17.
Advance Elector Registration Advance elector registrations will be accepted at the RDEK office in Cranbrook until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23.
List of Registered Electors
The list of registered electors will be available for public inspection at the RDEK office in Cranbrook, during regular office hours, beginning September 30, until the close of general voting for the election on November 15.
Objection to Registration of an Elector
A written objection to the registration of a person whose name appears on the list of registered electors may be made in accordance with the Local Government Act until 4 p.m. on October 10.
