Sixth annual Career Fair at COTR
The sixth annual Career Fair at College of the Rockies (COTR) featured 43 businesses and organizations being available for the more than 500 students and visitors who sought information about jobs, careers and opportunities March 8.
Organized by COTR, the Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce and Kootenay Business, the fair began with the chamber holdings it monthly luncheon prior, with opening comments by chamber president Lana Kirk and COTR president Dr. Nick Rubidge.
That was followed by an interview of Jeff Chynoweth, president and general manager of the Kootenay Ice, and team head coach Kris Knoblauch, by Kootenay Business magazine publisher, Keith Powell.
The career fair ran from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and offered information on a wide-variety of careers, including those in the military, police services and border services, as well as financial, tourism, industry, health, technology, safety, education and more.
