The spiritual Ktunaxa analogy for non-Ktunaxa folks:  The province said yes to killing Jesus (the grizzly) today, and destroying Jerusalem (Jumbo).
Did not a series of crazy Roman emperors do the same? If I recall that ended badly too. In fact, I think the war still continues on … we call it the Middle East.
