Fire being attacked west of Kimberley
Wildfire fighting crews are currently actioning a one-hectare fire approximately five km up St. Mary Lake Road (from the junction with Highway 95A in Kimberley).
There are multiple resources on the scene including a BC Wildfire Service Crew, water bomber, helicopter and water tender along with RCMP and the Kimberley Fire Department personnel.
Public safety officials are asking everyone to stay off St. Mary Lake Road to allow the crews to fight the fire from the ground and air.
At this time, there are no evacuation alerts or orders in place.
Earlier today, there was a structure fire in the same area; however, this is a separate incident.
More details as they become available.
