Still time to catch a few rays

Did you miss out on the SunMine tours? You are not alone.
During the August 10 City of Kimberley council meeting several members of the community, as well as council, offered rave reviews of the tours which were offered during the weeks following the opening of the SunMine, Canada’s largest solar tracking facility.
The $5.3 million SunMine is the first solar energy project to sell power to the BC Hydro grid. The tours sold out quickly and left more than 100 people signed up to the waiting list.
Because of the flood of interest in the project, the City may offer further touring dates beginning in early September. Scott Sommerville, Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Kimberley suggests that public interest in the project will drive the number of tours available.
