Boating incident victim identified

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a boating incident on Kootenay Lake near Riondel on Oct. 11.

He was David Larry Dale Jamieson, aged 30, from Fruitvale.

Mr. Jamieson was one of four persons aboard a seven-metre aluminum powerboat on Kootenay Lake. About 8 p.m. on Oct. 11, the boat ran into rocks at the base of a steep rock face near the Riondel ferry terminal on the east side of the lake. Mr. Jamieson died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
