Winter driving conditions across region

Recent precipitation throughout the East Kootenay has reduced the region’s highways to full-on winter driving conditions.
DriveBC reports slippery sections, compact snow and slushy sections on most major highways in the East Kootenay this afternoon.
Highway 43 has slippery sections in both directions from the junction with Highway 3 to Elkford.

Highway 3 is a mixed bag, currently, with slushy sections from Wardner to Elko (29.4 km) and compact snow from Elko to Fernie (29.5 km).
Highway 93 has slushy sections from British Columbia and Montana border to junction with Highway 3 at in Elko (26.9 km).
Highway 93/95 from the junction of Highway 95A to Canal Flats (41 km) has compact snow with slippery sections.

Highway 95A from Kimberley to Wasa Junction (28 km) has compact snow with slippery sections and Highway 95A from Wycliffe to Kimberley (14.7 km).
Remember to drive according to conditions, which can change in a second from wet/bare to black ice. Conditions also change with elevation gain/loss and when near water bodies. Please slow down and arrive alive.
