Obituary for Donna Faye Campsall

CAMPSALL (PRATT)DONNA FAYE

NOVEMBER 3, 1938 – MARCH 10, 2019

On the morning of Sunday March 10, 2019 Donna Faye Campsall (nee Pratt) passed away at Joseph Creek Care Village at the age of 80 years. Donna was born in Cranbrook on November 3, 1938, one of five children born to Don and Lela Pratt.

Donna was raised in Yahk and Cranbrook and as a young girl was a member of the Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band. One of her most memorable stories of her youth was that of riding horses from Cranbrook to Calgary with the Hilda Sissons Riding Club. As a young woman Donna enjoyed riding horses and barrel racing.  After she married John, they became members of the Pine Ridge Roping Club and enjoyed attending many Roping events with their numerous friends in the Club.  Donna enjoyed cooking and ran a kitchen at these events.  Donna always loved to cook for people and particularly enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.  All of her children would vouch for her that she was a VERY good cook.  Donna was also a long time member of the Juniper Lanes bowling centre, and bowled on many teams with family and friends.  Donna’s mantle displayed many trophies attesting to her bowling prowess.  Donna also enjoyed a good Bingo game whenever possible.

Donna was always an early riser and enjoyed these quiet times with a cup of coffee, reading a good book, playing solitaire, or just watching the cows in the field with her binoculars.

In later years after John had retired, he and Donna enjoyed traveling to Laughlin Nevada to escape some of the winter. Donna enjoyed playing bingo in the casinos with her snowbird friends.  Donna especially loved to call out BINGO, which she did quite often.  Donna really loved the desert in the spring.  During the rest of the year Donna and John enjoyed life on their farm and spending time visiting family, friends and attending the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Donna loved a good gathering, and always enjoyed being involved in the conversation. In her final years, after cruelly losing her ability to speak, staff at Joseph Creek would report that Donna was still able to communicate with them through her beautiful sparkling blue eyes. Donna was a very down to earth lady and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband, John; her children, Guy, Mike, and Harland Levesque, Linda Peterson, Brad, Pat, Kevin and David Campsall as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Don and Leland Pratt and one sister Lola Litzen.  Donna was predeceased by her brother, George Pratt.

Donna’s family would like to extend warm heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Joseph Creek Care Village for the excellent level of care that they provided. Also, a very special thanks to Maureen and Judy for the kind loving care, comfort, and friendship they provided to Donna.  You will always be remembered for the time you gave to Mom.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Donna on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Prestige Inn in Cranbrook .

Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
