Douglas Allan GILMAR

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug Gilmar on August 21st at the age of 65.

Douglas Allan Gilmar was born in Edmonton, AB on May 6, 1955 to parents Roy and Bertha. In 1964 the family moved to Kimberley; the place Doug would continue to call home and where he chose to raise his own family.

Doug lived a full life, filled with travel, hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He worked for the City of Kimberley for 40 years, retiring in 2013.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Heather, his daughter Chantelle (Ryan), his son Kyle (Melissa), four precious grandchildren: Gavyn, Elyse, Finley and Elliette, his mother Bertha sister Sandi (Marty) and sister-in-law Noemi. He was predeceased by his brother Jim (April 2019) and his father Roy (Sept. 2019).

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kimberley Health Care Loan Cupboard or the SPCA appreciated.
