Eleanor Joanne BRACONNIER
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Eleanor Joanne Braconnier who died in Calgary, AB on March 18th at the age of 61 years.
Joanne is survived by her children Brian and Tawny, her step-daughter Ang; grandchildren McKenzie, Destiny, Jaiden, Haleigh, Alliyah, Taylor, and Keiran; her sisters Tammy, Susan and Shelly, and her brother Donovan. She was predeceased by her step-father John Hack, her mother Dorothy May Belanger, birth father Hubert Wilfred Gunn, and her husband Jordan Braconnier.
Joanne was born into the Cowessess First Nation band on April 30, 1957 in Carmangay, AB. As a child she moved with her mother and step-father Johnny Hack to Fernie, BC where she graduated from Fernie Secondary in 1975. In 2000 Joanne graduated from the Radiologic Technology Program at the Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA. She enjoyed watching curling and figure skating.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
