Obituary of Bolko Schreiber

Bolko Schreiber

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bolko. He leaves us with a big hole in our hearts, but many happy memories.

Bolko was an avid fisherman and spent many days fishing at White Swan and Premier Lake. He would often come home from those trips with many stories to tell about the wonderful people he met and all the fish he caught. He was always happiest when he was outdoors, watching wildlife and simply enjoying nature.

Bolko was a happy gardener and loved to show off his plants and vegetables.

Bolko met the love of his life, Brenda, 36 years ago, and they never looked back. They settled in Skookumchuk, where they loved hosting family and friends. They spent many years filled with adventures and travelling the world.

Bolko was a wonderful husband to Brenda. He loved to bring her cookies and coffee every morning, and she loved to accept them. They were truly happy together.

Bolko is survived by his daughters, Linda Freeman and Sandra (Frank) Enns.

Bolko was a wonderful grandfather and is survived by his grandchildren: Sarah (Bill) Chiz; James (Samantha) Enns; Jeffrey (Justine) Enns; Shane, Scott, and Cherise Freeman.

He was also Opa to his great-grandchildren, whom he adored: Hunter, Ava, and Kyla Chiz; Anna and Aiden Enns; Jackie and Ben Enns.

Bolko is survived by one brother, Armin; two nephews, Bolko and Martin; and his sister-in-law, Gaylee (Henry), all residing in Germany.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care aides who took such good care of Bolko over the last few years. We also thank the recreation team at Joseph Creek for their patience and kindness toward Bolko.

To our special friends, Harold and Pam Williams, thank you for your friendship and kindness over the years.

Rest in peace, Bolko, until we meet again.

Your loving family

There will be a small family service at a later date.
