Obituary of Carol Lynne Ashbridge

Carol Lynne ASHBRIDGE

August 19, 1964 ~ November 17, 2021 (age 57)

Carol Lynne Ashbridge (nee Klein), 57, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Fernie BC. She was born on August 19, 1964 in Quesnel BC.

She was predeceased by her mother Reta Kaskiw (nee Redden) in 2014 and her father Gerald Klein many years previous. Carol is survived by her husband John Ashbridge, son Connor Ashbridge, her brother Trent Kelm (Kelowna), stepfather Edward Kaskiw (Kelowna), and the many family members and friends living in the Okanagan, the Caribou, and the Peace Region of BC.

Carol first went to school in Kelowna at an early age and graduated high school in Vernon. After this she moved to Quesnel to work with disabled adults until finally settling in Kamloops. It was at this time where she met John. The two fell in love and were married in Campbell River, BC and then settled into Kootenay life moving to Elkford BC. Carol’s greatest accomplishment was being a mother to their only child Connor who was born in 2001. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Carol’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. Her multitude of organizational skills benefited local organizations such as the Elkford Scouting program and the band program at Elkford Secondary School.

The Ashbridge family would like to thank Dr. Lori Gadsden of the Rocky Mountain Health Clinic, the nurses, and doctors from the Elkford Medical Centre to the Elk Valley Hospital, and finally the care aids and nurses at Rocky Mountain Village that would share a laugh with Carol during her stay there.
