Obituary of Gerry Nomland

October 2, 1957 ~ October 24, 2019

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gerald “Gerry” Ross Nomland on October 24, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Invermere, B.C Passed in Cranbrook, B.C.

Gerry was known for his laugh, once he started one couldn’t help but laugh with him. He had the biggest heart, and kind hand. If you needed help Gerry was always there to help. Gerry had a passion for music, and an amazing talent playing the trumpet. Gerry never missed playing the” Last Post” on Remembrance Day and played “Happy Birthday” for anyone celebrating that day.

Gerry was a hard worker, enjoying his meat cutting career and home life. Gerry made the best roast beef and Yorkshire pudding; it was always a request from his family.  We have all been truly blessed to have had him in our lives. Gerry will forever live in our hearts and memories; he certainly left his mark in this world.

We would like to thank all the ICU Staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital for taking such great care of Gerry, in particular Nurse Nancy and Dr. Natalia Frolova for all your compassion and support.

Gerry is survived by his children, Nick and Alisha, parents Sonny and Agnes Nomland, brothers Bruce, John and Chris, and grandson Matthew.

He was predeceased by his wife, Terri, sister Vicky, grandparents, Fred and Ivy Webber, Saavi and Johanna Nomland.
