Obituary of Harold “Garth” BAHER

Harold “Garth” BAHER

March 8, 1953 ~ March 17, 2025 (age 72)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Garth passed away at home in Baynes Lake, with his family by his side, after a brief but painful fight with cancer.

Garth loved the bush. He loved working, fishing, and hunting in the bush, anywhere but town, even if that meant sleeping on the cold ground. He shared his love of the great outdoors, so generously, with his children and grandchildren. Garth taught them how to hunt, fish, pick huckleberries and enjoy sitting around a campfire, whether it was summer or winter, enjoying a cold beer. It was never the wrong weather for him to enjoy nature; his kids and grandkids will carry on his love of the outdoors and a cold beer. Just a week before he passed, Garth gathered his large group of family and friends around him to celebrate one last birthday and campfire, complete with food, drinks, love, support, and even fireworks!

Garth loved his garden, lovingly nurturing the plants from seedlings to harvest and hand- watered every morning and night. His green thumb will live on in his children. Garth was happy to help Janet can and pickle everything; proudly and generously sharing with anyone who stopped by for a visit in the summer.

Above all else, Garth loved his kids, wife, and friends deeply. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Janet; son, Jeffrey (Christina), daughters, Nikki (Matt) and Aimee (Steve) along with his eight grand-children: Megan, Kaitlin, Alina, Annabelle, Morgan, Mason, Wyatt, and Maisie (his peanut); sister, Lorna (Gerry) Williams; brothers, Gary (Diane) Baher, and Bob Baher, and many nieces and nephews.

Garth was predeceased by his parents, Bryan, and Lorraine Baher; grandparents, Martin and Mary Baher, and Anne and Ben Palmer.

Rest in peace papa, you will be missed forever.
