Obituary of James Keith Elliott
James Keith Elliott
James Keith Elliott, 82, passed away peacefully in Cranbrook, B.C., on September 9, 2026. Born on October 17, 1944, in Holtyre, Ontario, to the late James Herbert Elliott and Margaret Elliott (Turner), Keith carried the hardworking, resilient spirit of his northern roots throughout his life.
Though his journey began in Ontario, Keith eventually made his way west to British Columbia. He deeply enjoyed the peace and community of Revelstoke, B.C., a place where he built a life and found connection. A dedicated and versatile worker, Keith was a familiar face around town, having been employed over the years by the Co-op, CPR, Noranda Mines, and Downie Timber. Wherever he went, Keith was known for his cheerful demeanor, kindness, and his contagious whistle. He was a man who appreciated the simpler things in life and was happiest when out on the golf course, at the bowling alley, on the curling ice, or casting a line while fishing.
Keith was a devoted family man. He was predeceased by his beloved Baby Elliott (Nov. 1969) and his brother Chuck Elliott.
He is survived by his brothers, Bill and Ron, and his sister, Linda. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Cory (Carell), Arron (Odette), and Christina (Ryan); his cherished grandchildren, Brooke, Braeden, Linden, Jack, Max, Harvest, Sadie, and Aimee; and his adored great-grandchildren, Brodie, Calissa, and Jordan.
At Keith’s request, there will be no formal service held. For those who wish to honour his memory, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Revelstoke Legion or the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the care staff in Cranbrook for their comfort and support.
