Michael SHINNERS

March 16, 1937 ~ February 20, 2022 (age 84)

With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Mike Shinners, on February 20, 2022.

Mike was born on March 16, 1937 in the historic Montreal neighborhood of Griffintown. Mike was the oldest of three children, and graduated from McGill University in 1961.

Mike’s career as a civil engineer with Lafarge Canada brought him and his family to live in various communities across Canada including Woodstock, Kingston, and Calgary; eventually retiring in Elkford.

Mike will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, skiing, and sailing. Mike was happy to be a member of the Elkford Rod & Gun Club and the Elkford ATV club, and enjoyed activities with the +50 Club.

Family and friends were always very important to Mike. Mike is survived by his loving wife Mary and daughters Kerry (Bruce) and Colleen (Gerald).
