Neil PELLETIER

February 8, 1941 ~ February 16, 2022 (age 81)

With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Neil Pelletier. Joseph Fernand Nil Pelletier, a.k.a. Neil, was born in Victoire, SK on February 8, 1941, to Agnes and Gérard Pelletier.

Neil finished his schooling at the College of Notre Dame in Prince Albert, SK. When his father became ill with typhoid fever, Neil stepped up to look after the family general store for the next 5 years. He attended college in Moose Jaw, SK studying Business Administration, and joined the Hudson’s Bay Co. Northern Stores Division for 7 years as clerk and manager. For 3 years he worked for Pinkerton Security in Montreal before moving out west where he was employed by Fording River for 23 years until he retired in 2001.

Neil loved to travel and enjoyed adventures to Europe, Mexico, all over the United States and the Holy Land. He also travelled throughout Canada with many trips to Montreal. Neil was a lifelong active member of his church, ProLife, and a charter member of St. Bernard’s Knights of Columbus. Summers were spent camping at the cabin by the lake with his family in Saskatchewan. He also enjoyed music, photography, and was an avid reader.

Neil was predeceased by his parents, Gérard in 1986, and Agnes (Huot) in 2003, and his sister Diane Samson in 2017.

He is survived by his brother Martin Pelletier (France Laroche) of Montreal, PQ, sister Cécile (Gaëtan) Pelland of St. Hubert, PQ, sister Angele (Clifford) Dortman of Elkford BC, and his brother-in-law Edward Samson of Leoville, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
