Obituary of Robert Arthur Shypitka

Robert Arthur Shypitka “Bob” 1931-2019 Robert Arthur Shypitka passed away at East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Saturday December 28, 2019 at the age of 88. Bob was born December 16th, 1931 in Fernie B.C, the second son of Steve and Ella Shypitka. His school years were in Cranbrook, leaving high school after grade 10 to work on the road paving.
Over the years Bob worked on different projects including portable saw milling. In 1957 he married the love of his life Louise and they moved to Prince Rupert in 1965 for work at the pulp mill.
He and Louise returned to Cranbrook in 1975 to start a landscaping business called Circle Green landscaping until he retired. Bob loved spending time with his family, doing photography, hiking, fishing, traveling and serving the Lord. His deep faith carried him through the trials and tribulations of life trusting God every step of the way. Bob is survived by his loving wife Louise of 62 years, brothers Bill(Cathy), Stephen(Anne), Richard, Keith(Lynne) and many nieces, nephews and his cousin Bill Shenfield of Fernie B.C. He was predeceased by his parents Steve and Ella Shypitka. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday January 4th, 2020 at 3pm at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Cranbrook B.C. Bob will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service at the Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations in Bob’s honour made be made to the ALS Society of B.C www.alsbc.ca.
