William BELL

William “Bill” Bell passed away suddenly on May 8, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born in South Africa to Thomas and Esther (nee Chandler) Bell on June 23, 1950.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Darlene, daughters Jesse (Ben) and Jennifer (Chad), grandson Walden, brother Jim (Ruth), and loving Brady dog, all of whom adored him.

Bill was a man of many facets, working as an educator, prospector and jeweller for most of his life. He raised his girls to love the outdoors. Bill was an incredibly generous and gentle man who never shied away from helping others and had both a wonderfully talented comedic and artistic streak.

Bill has left a lasting impression on the Elk Valley, his past students, his dear friends, and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to know him.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at Cherished Memories Serenity Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fernie Friends for Friends and Angel Flight East Kootenay.
