With great sadness, we share the passing of Dave Kovacic in Cranbrook B.C., on September 24, 2026, at the age of 86.

Dave was born in Cranbrook on February 6, 1940, and was raised in Canal Flats B.C. Growing up with a deep love for the outdoors, he spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and exploring the backcountry. In his late teens and early twenties, Dave travelled and worked throughout B.C. before meeting his wife Linda.

Dave and Linda raised their family in Cranbrook, where he dedicated his career to hauling logs as an independent logging truck owner-operator. After retiring at age 55, he spent many wonderful years travelling to Arizona for the winter with Linda. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 9th of this year.

David – lovingly known as Dad, Grandpa, and Papa – will be forever missed by his wife Linda, his children Glen (Fiona) and Colleen (Bob), and his grandchildren Braden, Easton, Dylan, Halle, Nate, and Gracie.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service. Family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life.
