New Works in Glass by Artist Katherine Russell
Elk Valley artist Katherine Russell is exhibiting her new body of work: Along These Lines at The Arts Station in Fernie. In this collection she spans three techniques in glass: fusing, coldworking and glassblowing to focus in on the captivating reaction line created when the colours touch. Fused glass wall panels, kilnformed bowls, blown sculptures and platters. Bold colours, striking texture and graphic lines form the contemporary nature of Katherine’s glasswork.
Katherine was trained in glass at the Alberta College of Art, as well as several private studios in Alberta and Australia.
Katherine brings international expertise to the glass scene in Western Canada, and continues to exhibit her work here and abroad. Visit katherinerussellglass.blogspot.ca to read more about her!
