Family Programming

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years)

Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-noon Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years)

Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Children’s Activities for School-aged children   

Wednesday, June 7 – 3:30-5 p.m. Superhero Olympics

Test your super skills at our Superhero Olympics. This is a drop-in event for children ages 7+.

Teen Programming

Pizza League: Thursday, June 15 – 6-7 p.m.

For teens ages 13+. Drop in for some pizza and a discussion about your babysitting tales and tips. Pizza donated by Elk Valley Pizza Shoppe.

Adult Programming

Stitch and Bitch – Wednesday, June 7 at 10 a.m.

Drop-In knitting, crocheting, and any other yarny endeavour, on the first Wednesday of each month Please enter using the back door.

Brown Bag Discussion: Summertime & Screen time, Tuesday, June 13, 12:15-1:15 p.m.

Join in on a thought-provoking and positive discussion about free time, screen time, and navigating your way through the summer months. Open to all-meet in the library boardroom. BYO lunch: drinks and snacks provided by Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL)

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, June 30 at 1-3 p.m. All are welcome. Join us for the film adaptation of Into the Forest (Jean Hegland).

ipads for Seniors Q & A, Tuesday June 6, 1-2 p.m. At Fernie Senior Citizens Drop In-Centre.

Fernie Heritage Library and CBAL staff are joining forces to bring you a one hour Q and A on navigating your ipad. Basic skills discussion may include how to email, changing settings, intro to social media and Internet safety. This is a drop-in session that will take place at the Fernie Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre.

All-Ages Programming

Puppy Tails: Tuesday, June 13, 5-6 p.m.

Join puppy guru and animal-loving Cathy Smith-Clark and her team of puppy parents, as they demonstrate some techniques in puppy positive reinforcement training. This is a demonstration-only event. Everyone welcome. (PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PUPPY AT HOME.)

Lemonade Social: Wednesday, June 14 from 4-5:30 p.m.

Come celebrate the end of our after school programming for the school year. The social includes lemonade games, activities, and snacks. Register for a table in the Lemonade Stand-Off or for more information, email [email protected]

Meet the Sitter Day: Tuesday June 20 – 3:45-4:45 p.m.

Are you a parent of young children looking for a sitter? Are you a teen or tween who is keen to babysit over the summer months? Let’s all meet! Children/babies are welcome as well as all potential babysitters and families looking for childcare at this informal meet and greet.
