Key City Theatre launching 21st season

Key City Theatre is excited to start up it’s 21st season!  The acts are booked and the box office is open! The 2012 – 2013 brochures are back from the printers and in the mail. Who do you want to see?

Ben Heppner

Things are starting early this year with Sloan playing on September 13. Considered by many as the best rock band to ever come out of Canada, Sloan is back for one night of rockin’ rejuvenation and rollin’ revelations, focusing on their best-selling album, Twice Removed.

The hilarious comic actor Lucas Myers brings his one man show DECK to the theatre on October 11 – Members special two for $25!

Join us for a night of music from one of Canada’s hardest working Canadian music icons, Barney Bentall, returning to the KCT on November 13.

The world’s most renowned female banjo player and Grammy Award winner, Alison Brown and her band bring outstanding bluegrass and Americana style picking to the theatre on November 18.

Get in the mood for Christmas with Juno Award winner for Best New Artist, Meaghan Smith, performing her hit Christmas show on December 2.

Ballet Jorgen returns to the theatre on February 21 with the rarely toured Swan Lake, the most revered of classical ballets.

We are also thrilled that Natalie MacMaster is also coming back to the theatre in April.

And of course the most thrilling show next season for us is Canada’s renowned tenor, Ben Heppner  who is recognized worldwide as the finest dramatic tenor alive today. He excels in the most challenging roles, from Wagner’s Tristan to Verdi’s Otello and Berlioz’ Aeneas. He is acclaimed in music capitals around the world for his beautiful voice, intelligent musicianship and sparkling dramatic sense. Some of you may have seen Ben Heppner last year in Calgary Opera’s Moby Dick. Ben will be singing on stage in an intimate setting with just his pianist. Don’t miss this concert. Keep an eye on the KCT website and Facebook to see who else might be coming to the theatre, events are always being added! www.keycitytheatre.com.
