Look Outside winners for October
Here are the monthly winners of the Look Outside photo contest.
Ryan Bavin shot the ‘The Columbia Wetlands near Radium’ and brings home the winning package from Kicking Horse Coffee and the Camera Store in Calgary.
“I took this photo in late September 2014 while on a photo workshop based out of Radium Hot Springs. The group went to this location hoping for some interesting late afternoon light and we found what we were looking for! The sun and clouds worked in our favour and gave us about 15-20 minutes of interesting light to work with. This photo is what I consider to be my best image from that afternoon.”
Barrie Hawes wins a free night in a Alpine Club of Canada hut thanks to his picture ‘Ray on Larches – Bruce Ridge.’
“I didn’t get out backpacking much this year so decided to get up on the ridge even if the weather wasn’t great. The larches were in full color, the clouds were moving fast and the sun was breaking through now and then. I watched as the spot light moved to towards the larches and was able to catch the scene lighting up. I camped on the ridge that night over looking Invermere. A wonderful day and a beautiful night!” Hawes related in regards to the image.
