City approves Brew Pub licence
UPDATED: Heidi informs us that the name ‘Black Dog Brew Pub’ was only selected for the purposes of quickly obtaining a licence. It will not be the name of the establishment when the doors open. A name has yet to be arrived upon.
City of Cranbrook council unanimously agreed to direct city administrative staff to begin processing the Black Dog Brew Pub’s application for a liquor primary licence Jan. 7.
The Black Dog Brew Pub is the name Heidi’s Restaurant provided in order to get a licence but when renovations and changes are made to transform the popular eatery into a brew pub, as well as a family restaurant, it will have a different name.
City elected officials’ enthusiasm for the proposed changes, as announced last month, were perhaps summarized by Coun. Denise Pallesen who simply stated: “Yippee!” following council’s vote.
