Readers’ Choice Award for e-KNOW

East Kootenay News Online Weekly (e-KNOW) owner/editor Ian Cobb would like to thank those who cast votes for him in the second annual Black Press East Kootenay Readers’ Choice Awards.

Cobbhed bwCobb received a Gold Award for Best Columnist. Cranbrook Daily Townsmen editorial staff members Trevor Crawley and Sally MacDonald received silver and bronze.

“It’s always nice to receive some recognition for the work one does. I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me and thank the folks at the Townsman and Advertiser for the honour,” he said.

Cobb has worked as a newspaper reporter, photographer and editor in the East Kootenay since 1991, most of it in the Columbia Valley. In that time he has captured more than 20 Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA), British Columbia/Yukon Community Newspaper Association Awards (BCYCNA) and Black Press writing and photography awards. He also led editorial teams to more than 20 CCNA, BCYCNA and Black Press general excellence awards between 1995 and 2008.

Independently owned, e-KNOW is the lone online-only newspaper in the East Kootenay.
