Fire and Ice: The Hidden History of Igneous Rocks

If you’ve ever wondered how mountains are built, where minerals come from, or what ancient environments can tell us about our region’s history, our new GeoBreak Lab series is the perfect opportunity to dig deeper. Travel from the Earth’s fiery interior to the frozen landscapes where igneous rocks take shape. Examine real specimens, learn how they form, and discover the incredible forces that have shaped British Columbia’s rugged landscape.

Everyone is welcome—whether you’re a rock enthusiast or just curious about the world beneath your feet!

Advance registration is required: https://forms.cotr.bc.ca/geobreak-labs-registration/

Two sessions will be offered: 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
