It’s a case of the same-old, same old for East Kootenay residents when it comes to representation in the Victoria Legislature.

The Christy Clark-led Liberal Party has held onto power in the Victoria Legislature, capturing a majority government victory in the May 14 B.C. provincial election. As of 12:10 a.m. Mountain Time, the Liberals have captured 49 seats, compared to 29 for the NDP, as well as one seat apiece for the Green Party and independent candidate Vicki Huntington in Delta South.

However, at publication time, the premier is trailing in her Vancouver-Point Grey riding to NDP candidate David Eby by 257 votes.
