Citizen of the Year to be honoured Jan. 29

Join in Jan. 29 as CranbrookĀ and community celebrates and thanks Frank Vanden Broek, ourĀ Citizen of the Year.

ā€œSince moving to Cranbrook in 1986 Frank has been a very active member of many volunteer and community organizations in our community,”Ā said Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce president Dave Struthers. ā€œFrank is incredibly deserving of this honour.ā€

Vanden Broek is a certified financial planner with Sun Life Financial. He is also the former owner operator of Juniper Lanes Bowling Centre.

He is very involved in Rotary International having served on innumerable projects and initiatives locally and overseas. He is a past president of the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club and a past director of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce.

ā€œThis is an exceptional award for an extraordinary citizen,ā€ said Struthers.Ā ā€œIf you look at the list of past recipients it is a whoā€™s who of what makes Cranbrook a great place to live, work and play and we are pleased to add Frankā€™s name to the list.ā€

The Citizen of the Year gala will be held Friday, January 29 at the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre.

Cocktails start at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. with the Citizen of the Year celebration to follow.
