Commission donations benefit Friends of Children
Through CIBC Wood Gundy’s (Cranbrook Branch) Miracle Day fundraising, a donation of $3,069 was made to East Kootenay Friends of Children.
The funds were raised by CIBC Wood Gundy investment advisors by donating their commissions and fees to help kids in need.
This generous donation will be used by Friends of Children to assist East Kootenay families travelling to access specialized medical services for their children outside their home community. Assistance such as reimbursement of gas and parking costs, accommodation funding and provision of food support may be provided.
Receiving the CIBC donation are Friends of Children Family Support Coordinator, Pat Chisholm and member of the Board of Directors, Gail Brown. Providing the donation are CIBC Wood-Gundy Investment Advisor Mike Sveinson, Investment Advisor Assistant Terra Lee Meijer and Investment Advisor John Reinarz.
This is a timely donation as requests to Friends of Children are constantly increasing with 155 requests to September 30, resulting in expenditures of $12,500 for travel costs compared to 121 requests and $8,500 to the same time last year.
