Fatal hit and run suspects arrested in Creston
A call about suspicious persons in Creston on Sunday led to the arrests of a 25-year-old male and an 18-year-old female in regards to an outstanding warrant.
The pair has also been identified as possible suspects in a March 9 hit and run collision in Burnaby.
On Sunday March 13, at 9:06 a.m. Creston RCMP responded to a report of suspicious persons booking into a local hotel. RCMP officers attended and spoke to the two individuals and the officers suspected that the names being provided were false and departed to assess the situation further.
Further investigation identified the two as having an outstanding warrant for arrest. They were also identified as possible suspects in the Burnaby hit and run, that killed a 25-year-old woman.
Burnaby RCMP investigators are now in the Kootenays in order to further their investigation. The investigation into the hit and run remains ongoing. The pair remains in custody for the outstanding warrant, reported South East District RCMP.
