Come down to the Max Turyk Community Sports Field for a celebration of the City of Fernie’s new fields. Please join Mayor Mary Giuliano and dignitaries on Saturday, October 4, from 1:30-5 p.m.

Things get rolling at 1:30 with a half-hour long Vancouver Whitecaps demonstration followed by a Grassroots clinic for ages 7-10, run by BC Soccer from 2-3:30 p.m., and a Free Mini Tournament for ages 11 and up.

The grand opening ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting, raffle draw and prizes, with a barbecue going from 3-4 p.m.

In conjunction, from 2 – 5 p.m. there will be plenty for the kids to do including an obstacle course, bounce house, crafts and ‘clock your kick’ with a RCMP radar gun.
