Habitat For Humanity open house Friday

If you, your family, your business or organization have been wondering how you can become involved with the Habitat For Humanity, Cranbrook project, then you should attend the HFH Open House on Friday, Jan. 10 at the former Alpenhaus building at 120-7th Ave. South at 7:30 p.m.

Chief Operating Officer from Habitat For Humanity Canada Mark Rodgers, along with representatives from the West Kootenay and Boundary affiliates, will be in attendance to answer any questions about the Cranbrook project or Habitat For Humanity in general.

The house plans, which have been completed, will be on display as well photos of the Slaterville lot location.

Project Leader Gord Johnston commented, “This is a perfect opportunity for folks to find out what’s involved in volunteering, making donations or simply how the projects work.”

Johnston will also be meeting with Mark Rodgers and the representatives from the West Kootenay and Boundary on January 11 to begin discussions around a Habitat for Humanity Kootenays; merging the two affiliates and adding the Cranbrook group.
