Heavy rains force city to bypass to Elk River
The City of Fernie advised June 13 that due to heavy rains it is necessary to temporarily bypass treated effluent to the Elk River in order to dispose of excessive amounts of water in the sanitary sewer collection system, explained Dave Cockwell, Director of Operational Services.
The bypass will take place June 13 to June 26, 2012 in accordance with the Ministry of Environment Operating Permit.
