Cranbrook resident Mike Adams wants to continue wearing this pretty pink bra.

The longer he has to wear it, the more money that is being raised for breast cancer research in Canada.

Helping his cause was an appearance at the Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce October/Small Business Month Luncheon at the Prestige Inn, where Adams explained Dress for the Cause. He also demonstrated the extra storage benefit of bras to the amusement of about 200 chamber members.

“The reason I was wearing the bra today is because when I started the fundraising for this I made a deal that for each $1,000 I raised I would wear a pink bra outside my clothes for a day,” said Adams, a former chamber president and Taylor Adams Chartered Accountants co-owner. “Since I’m at $4,750 I had to wear it for four days so far.  I started yesterday and then have today (Oct. 22), tomorrow and Friday.  If I were to hit $5,000 this week I would have to wear one on Monday as well,” Adams said, explaining the team that raises the most money for the event across Canada wins $5,000 for their local cancer treatment centre.

“Our office team is currently still in first place. We are over $7,500 and would love to stay in first to win that prize for Cranbrook,” Adams said.
